A Letter of Concern -Dear Cousin

Dear Cousin in Arizona,

I was so excited to get your text about your new baby being born! It was so exciting that I didn't even mind that it came at 12:45am.

My excitement quickly ended however when I received a response text from someone else. And realized it was a group text.

From 12:45 am to 6:30 am, I received 15 texts.

Seroiusly?!?

That move was not cool. Sending a group text with the most exciting news ever in the middle of the night?

I'm sure tons of people were in bed trying to just ignore their phones when they heard the first text come in. Then when their phone kept going off, they finally drug themselves out of bed, to check what all the commotion was about. Then because they were already up, they replied.

Thus contributing to the whole fiasco.

15 texts cousin. FIFTEEN.

Is this payback for that time I called you on new years eve at midnight, and forgot you were in Texas? So you had already been in bed for two hours.

If it is, then touché.

But if it was just an accident, then don't let it happen again.

Ever.

Seriously.

You're lucky I still love you, and your cute new baby girl.

Sincerely,
A Concerned Cousin

  2. I love that my phone has a "do not disturb" mode. My mom and sisters and I group text all the time, but I usually am the first one who goes to bed, so I say good night, put my phone on do not disturb and it won't light up or make noise until 7am the next morning. Genius! Sorry about your interrupted sleep. :(

    1. That sounds like a lot of anger there sir. Maybe you should work that out somehow.

  4. Do not disturb is pretty awesome. I like that it has an override feature in case of emergencies though.
